MINDFUL HALF-DAY (MHD) *Our in-person mindfulness meditation classes are currently on hold until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic pre-cautions and restrictions.
Mindful Half Day is an opportunity for individuals to nurture their mindfulness practice within the energy, support and company of others or a “sangha” (community). The half-days are led by experienced facilitators, trained in mindfulness and/or yoga. The mindfulness facilitator(s) & yoga instructors will guide practices in sitting meditation, body scan, mindful walking, mindful movements/gentle hatha or restorative yoga, book readings, dharma sharing, and mindful eating. The mindful half days can help foster your mindfulness practice throughout every moment of your life- not just at the centre but also at home, work, commuting from one location to another, talking, listening and much more.
As mindful eating is an integral part of the practice, please bring a packed vegan/vegetarian lunch. We will provide light snack/desserts (tea, fruits, and vegetables with dip).
12:45pm-1:15pm: Mindful Communication (A book will be passed around)
1:15pm-1:30pm: Wrapping Up Practice

For your own benefit and the benefit of all attending, we ask that you plan to remain for the entire duration of the event.
We keep a sign-in sheet, both to collect email addresses and to provide monthly updates.
The event requires many resources to create and manage. We kindly ask that everyone provide a "Dana" or "contribution" to participate. Dāna (दन) is a Sanskrit and Pali word that connotes the virtue of generosity, charity or giving. We offer a sliding scale in order to make this event accessible to everyone. All proceeds go towards bursaries for our programs, space rental, and light refreshments. If you are inspired to give more, you are welcome to donate during Mindful Half-Day or at our drop-in meditation classes.
